He stays on his feet but the angle is against him as he drags his shot wide and beyond his teammates at the back post sliding in.

Atalanta's Davide Zappacosta is picked out in the box. He stumbles over a Liverpool leg but doesn't go down - and the chance is gone.

Khan: Maybe it's time for the clinical Jota and the chaotic Nunez to come on a wreak havoc for Liverpool!

Michail Antonio is furious, he thinks he's been dragged back by Edmond Tapsoba. No free-kick says the referee.

Atalanta's Davide Zappacosta does very well to turn his man and pick out Teun Koopmeiners in the box but the Dutch player's low drive is saved by Alisson.

One more Atalanta goal and you'd feel this tie is done.

The chances are starting to slow down now, this will suit Leverkusen.

All that space West Ham had in the first half has been hidden away. The hosts are really having to work for every break upfield.

Bayer Leverkusen have been far better so far in the second half than they were in the first.

There is more control about their play, more incisiveness in their passing and they are keeping the ball better.

West Ham are clearly still in this but they are going to have to be nearly perfect to get the result they want.

A couple of Atalanta fouls in quick succession and they stop LIverpool taking a quick free-kick.

Eventually Trent Alexander-Arnold swings the free-kick towards Virgil van Dijk but his header is straight at the keeper.
